How to choose a battery shop in Visakhapatnam: 9 checks before you pay

Type "battery shop near me" into your phone in Visakhapatnam and you will get a long list of names with star ratings. Ratings help, but they do not tell you whether the battery in your hand is fresh, whether the warranty will be honoured, or whether anyone will pick up the phone after you have paid. Deepak Automobiles® has sold batteries and inverters from Seethammapeta since 2009, and these are the checks we would want a customer to run on any shop, ours included.
1. Is it a real address with a phone that gets answered?
A shop you can visit, with a street address and a number that connects to a person, is easier to hold to account than a listing with only a pin on the map. Call before you go and see how the conversation feels.
2. Do they ask about your vehicle or inverter before quoting?
A sensible quote needs your car's make, model, year and fuel type, or your inverter's rating and the backup time you want. A shop that names a price without asking is guessing. You can send us the same details on the help-me-choose form or check them yourself with the battery finder.
3. Which brands do they actually deal with?
Ask for the brand names and whether the battery comes with that brand's own warranty card. We list the brands we deal with on the brands page.
4. How old is the battery on the shelf?
Lead-acid batteries lose charge while they wait in storage, so a very old unit starts life weaker. Ask the shop to show you the manufacturing date or date code on the label. Our guide on checking a battery is fresh and genuine explains what to look for.
5. Will the invoice carry the battery's serial number?
Warranty claims usually need the invoice and the serial number to match the battery. If either is missing, you may struggle later.
6. Is the warranty explained clearly?
Many batteries have a free-replacement period followed by a pro-rata period. Ask which is which, what voids the warranty, and where a claim is made. We have written about this in how to keep your battery warranty valid.
7. What happens to your old battery?
Used lead-acid batteries should go back into the recycling stream, not into a scrap pile. Ask whether the shop takes the old unit and whether any exchange applies to your purchase.
8. Do they check the cause of the problem?
A flat battery is sometimes a symptom of a faulty alternator or a parasitic drain. A good shop will tell you if the new battery is likely to fail for the same reason.
9. Will they still be reachable next month?
This one is the hardest to test, which is why time in business matters. A shop that has traded from the same address for many years has a reputation to protect.
How we handle it
We confirm fit, price and availability when you contact us, and we sell from the store: there is no delivery and no online payment. You can reserve a battery for pickup, or call or WhatsApp the number on the contact page and tell us what you need.
