BATTERY CARE

How to keep your battery warranty valid: a short checklist

Amaron car battery

Battery warranties are written by the manufacturer, and the exact terms differ from brand to brand and from product to product. What does not change is that a clean paper trail and careful use make a claim much smoother. This checklist is general; always read the warranty card that comes with your battery.

1. Keep the invoice and warranty card

Store the bill and the warranty card together, and take a photo of both. The purchase date usually starts the warranty period.

2. Note the battery's identification details

Take a clear photo of the label, including the model and serial or date code, soon after it is fitted. If the label becomes worn, you still have a record.

3. Do not open or tamper

Opening sealed batteries, drilling, or altering them can void the warranty and is unsafe. Leave repairs to qualified people.

4. Use it as designed

Match the battery to the vehicle or inverter it was sold for. Overloading an inverter, or using an unsuitable charger, can damage a battery and complicate a claim.

5. Keep it charged and clean

Do not leave a battery deeply discharged for long periods, and keep terminals clean and tight. Our maintenance tips and two-wheeler care guide cover the basics.

6. Report problems early

If the battery behaves oddly, get it tested sooner rather than later. A quick test can tell you whether the fault is in the battery, the charging system or the wiring.

7. Ask at the time of purchase

Ask the shop what the warranty covers, how a claim is made, and what is needed. We are happy to explain what the brand's card says when you visit or message us.
